The next chapter begins...

Exciting news today! We've just received permission to erect two polytunnels which will be a key feature in the next big development at Woodfrys Farm: a commercial market garden.

Back in the winter lockdown of 2020, we were really lucky to take part in an online Permaculture Design Course with #ShiftBristol. As part of our final project, a small team of us worked on developing a design for the farm to help us move our vision and plans forward. Katie on our team pulled together this amazing map which will be helping to guide us as we get things going.

Like many things - I am sure the plan will evolve as we go along but it's definitely helpful to keep us focussed, particularly when the paddock that's going to become the market garden looks such a muddle at the moment.

Permaculture Permaculture is a practical method of developing ecologically harmonious, efficient and productive systems. By thinking carefully about the way we use our resources - food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs - it is possible to get much more out of life by using less. We can be more productive for less effort, reaping benefits for our environment and ourselves, for now and for the future.

So we have a design, the polytunnels have permission. Now all we need to do is create it!
